RE: Wireless outside thermometer. Where to put it???

We have a DP and I placed it behind the headlight in a Ziplock bag to prevent it from the elements. Seems to be as accurate as anything we need. ditto that.. mine is in a baggie.. and taped to a strut in the front away from engine and genny...I think the bag slows the response time down a wee bit but it has worked for 3 years and 3 battery changes

RE: Fuel shortage , economy bad?

Gordy, here is the link for flying J. Flying J each station line turns color as it runs low or out. It has been a good indicator of past low supplies in the past for me, may you find it to be the same. Please note there is a tab for Canada as well Rick

RE: What is this thing in my rv?

does it fit between the slide and outside wall when you are in the travel mode ( slide in) to keep it from creeping out ?

RE: Panic the Slide is stuck out!!

had trouble with an elect slide, just as you are...broken pin. cranked the square end till the slide was even put a bolt in...ran it back. However the tube was walled out around the hole ever so slightly ( which is probably why it broke the pin to begin with --allowed it to 'slap' into the move) So i would up replacing the tube, ( which had been made thicker by the manf. ...wonder why??)several weeks later, problem never resurfaced.

RE: Hatfield-McCoy Trails, has anyone been?

I've got some friends that go twice a year, they have found it great...no hassle from the locals...even when they took the quads to get food/ drink at nearby estab. as long as they behave. Enjoy, many seem to be!!!

RE: Help with Dish Setup

Ok, first question. do you have a signal from the receiver to the TV, (that says searching for signal ) or any thing other that a blank screen? Start there, make sure you have that connection, then i must ask if your coach also has a cable in AND sat in connection. make sure the right one is the input for the sat receiver.the fact you have a signal in the receiver makes me think you have a connection problem...or don't have the TV on the right channel...that is why the searching display is important. Feel free to pm me.

RE: Adding front window to cabover?

for ventilation...can you put a fan in the roof port? if there isn't one wiring can be challenging , if there is one our favorite is thermostat controlled fantastic fan with a rain cover from max air. that is what we had in our class c, that by the way leaked around the front window.

RE: Hole in sewer hose

Buy a new hose...really? I've had the RT one year on August 17. This spot on the hose had always looked different....like they had melded or melted 2 sections together. Does WalMart carry this small diameter hose (about 1.5-2 inches)? I don't think I could install a new hose myself because the other end disappears ar the back of the compartment and must hook into the black tank. I don't mind losing 3-4 inches. I rarely need to stretch it out full length plus it is so dang hard to get it coiled into its small cubby hole. near the VALVE that you open to drain the tank, there should be a end similar to the end with the hole in it. (with a hose clamp) in fact i think it will have a twist-to-remove coupling that will then pull right out. please ask your camping neighbor who seems friendly for some help. wish we were closer... i ENJOY helping out with this kind of stuff...well not necessarily black dump hoses . hahahaha Please PM (private message) with any questions i can help you with. I do think you should look at Walmart to see what they sell in the camping section to learn how simple all that is when you see it out in the light of day. By the way, cutting the 4" end off is an excellent way to solve this in the meantime!!!

RE: Thinking of fulltime RVing to stretch retirement funds

tony: I just spent a couple hours cruising Tioga/george blog. Very interesting. Gale: I don't understand those numbers. Are you saying I should expect to pay $5000 in repairs/updates right away? Lady: Renting is pretty expensive, isn't it? YES renting is expensive...but cheep if it turns out you don't like the lifestyle and you already sold your place. at least meet her half way and but a rig...use it while you are putting the place up for sale, and with the option to STOP if it isn't your life style

RE: Son here for summer, and he dont enjoy camping

You live with a new wife and her son. The three of you love to camp, but your son doesn't. Wow, he must really feel like an outsider. He only has his dad part of the time. If it were me, I would tell the current wife and her son to go enjoy the camprground and I would spend every opportunity I had with my son. I would become an expert at video games, or sit in front of the tv or whatever, but I would do the kinds of things he likes and do it with a big smile. Andrew There is truth in this, but good ideas from other posters...for me it would be a blend. Yes, spend time dedicated to what HE enjoys and HE alone one on one...but you have a responsibility to TRY to pull him out of that chair too. As said before, he might be enjoying himself because this is what he does at home, but he needs more...and pulling...not pushing him to another interest is desirable. Get him somewhere there are GIRLS... his interest will improve! lol!
